Lon Las Challenge
Lon Las Cymru, or North to South Wales, is a challenging 210-mile route through the country’s most mountainous countryside, including the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia. It is one of the most challenging rides in the UK, behind Lands’ End to John O’Groats. The scenery is among the finest in the UK, starting at Holyhead and heading across valleys, mountain tops and estuaries until arriving at Chepstow. Ridden over four days it is a challenging ride. In May a team of riders will be attempting to complete the challenge. Currently the team has around ten riders of all abilities.
Besides the opportunity to ride one of the most beautiful routes in the country the Lon Las Challenge is an opportunity to raise funds to see young people's lives changed by Jesus. Each week we have over 400 interactions with young people across Gloucestershire. We know that this is only scratching the surface. Each supporter of this campaign will be helping make a difference in the lives of a young person. It may be through a mentoring session, the opportunity to attend an after-school club, being part of a young leader training programme or providing the space to talk through issues that they are facing.
You may have never cycled more than a few miles or may have previously taken on other cycle challenges, no matter what your position, we have a place on the team for you. If you would like to find out about joining the team please email us and we will send you tge information needed to help you make a decision to join us.
If you are not able to join us then we would really appreciate your sponsorship so that we can extend our work to see more young people's lives changed by Jesus. You can either sponsor an individual member of the team or the whole team. Visit our Virgin Giving page from there you can either click on an individual rider or sponsor the whole team.
We are looking for corporate sponsors for the event who will be featured on our team kit. Not only would the support make a real difference to the lives of young people but it would also mean your company branding will be featured on the teams cycling kit. As most cyclists wear jerseys for around ten years, it will mean you are likely to see the ten riders cycling around with your branding until around 2030. Please email our Director, Paul, to discuss what this could look like.
